This nursery really tugged at my heart strings. Manny’s nursery had a similar theme and it is sooo special that Yolande, owner of YSP also decided on an “Out of Africa” theme. I met Yolande through the blog many moons ago and we keep in touch as she is one of the creatives behind The Desert Rose Project. Our little people were born only a month apart.
Jessy’s room was inspired by the animal themed embroidery piece Yolande’s mother made for her nursery before she was born. The colour scheme was drawn from the first piece of furniture they bought for his room, namely a Gozo side table.
The colourful “Out of Africa” theme started to come together with beautiful jades and blues with only a hint of green and pink here and there. Jessy is our “Apie”, so we had to have monkeys hanging and sitting in curious spots. Decorating Jessy’s room was a journey in it self for us, because we waited a long time for him to come. Every completed project meant we got closer to Jessy’s arrival. It was a very special time for us.
