2014 Wedding trends

Getting married this year? Then you have probably started researching the trends for 2014. There are various predictions in terms of colours, themes and styles from which you have to ultimately take what you like and pair it with your own style + taste. Carla from Moi Decor + I came up with a list that we think you might be seeing more of this year.

The Themes:

  1. Romance + Roses:
    A classical + timeless theme is the romantic theme with roses in any colour + size. Pair these with some large letter marquee words and you have a match made in heaven!

  3. Love + Lace:
    I am a lover of all things lace – not just dresses, but the décor too. This includes lace bunting, washi tape and details on invites. Lace is definitely also a timeless theme that can be brought to life by adding some sparkling beads or accentuated by adding a little lace to a modern type theme. Adding some doilies to this theme is also a great idea. {See our Pinterest board here}

  5. Glitter + Glam:
    This is the theme that we will cover in our January wedding week later this month. A theme that can be both formal or slightly less formal. We opted for a Gold glitter look, but how ever you decide to bring on the ‘bling’ it is sure to add some sparkle to your special day! {See our Pinterest board here}

  7. Gorgeous + Geometric:
    Need I say more… This will definitely add a third dimension to your special day. The use of these regular lines + shapes on your invites, décor and wedding accessories adds a unique look + feel to the day. We can’t wait to share more on this theme… so, follow lovilee or miss out!

  9. Dramatic + dark:
    Think unusual theatrical spaces, darker colours, long sleeves on dresses, seriously slick glamour… darker colours or touches of dark is becoming more and more prevalent for weddings. Whether it is just a touch of dark on the dress or your bridesmaids in black, dark is the new ‘black’.
