Little manny turned two a little while ago and there was no doubting the theme… I am sure that we will have to go with the Cars birthday party theme for the next 8 years! Manny LOVED his special day and especially the red car cake topper that his daddy made for him.
I started off my planning with a Pinterest board. When I discussed my theme with friendy Liezel from Match Set Love she started creating and inspiring me with so many more ideas! We decided to go with the black and white racing flag theme, incorporating it into the cake, the bunting, cake toppers and guest favours. She designed and cut the most awesome vinyl that I literally stuck everywhere.
I created a little photo-booth area with CARS free printable photobooth props that I designed myself available for download below. It was great fun! We also had a small colouring in area with crayons and stickers and I got some really nice Car tattoos from Pick ‘n Pay.

Even though daddy was brave enough to make the cars cake topper, I decided to outsource the cake. Nina made the chocolate cars cookies and his aunt the boudoir biscuit cars and ‘cosy cones’. The sparkler ‘2’ was also from his aunt which she purchased on their recent visit to New Zealand. I cannot begin to tell how little manny’s face lit up when he saw the cake and even more when he got to play with the car on top!
For favours I re-purposed some Skip Liquid plastic bottles using vinyls from Match Set Love and filled them with bubble bath.
A big, big thank you to Jo’burg photographer, Carike Ridout for taking the amazing images and blending in with the whole party. It is so great to work with someone so passionate about her work and good at what she does!
