Throwing a garden party or having an intimate garden wedding does not mean you have to skimp on details, it is the perfect way to show off that less can in fact be more! Who does not love a great pizza? For me, it is all about the pizza toppings, but for you, it might be all about the pizza base. We have you covered on both. This took me back to this Geometric Garden styled shoot that we did a few years back. This shoot was featured in so many different publications and is still one of my all-time favourites!
This is a basic pizza dough recipe with some pizza Topping ideas and free pizza party printables were done by husband and wife creative duo, Rainer and Liezel, Liezel off-course the owner of graphic design studio and online store – Match Set Love. Rainer is a Food and Retail consultant by trade and we were so excited when he agreed to inspire us with his lovilee food knowledge, skill and ideas.
The perfect basic pizza dough recipe
(makes 2 x 23cm pizzas)
Pizza Dough Ingredients
- 150ml room temperature water
- 1tsp sugar
- 2 level tsp dried yeast
- 225g flour plus extra for working
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- Extra virgin olive oil
Method
- In a bowl, sprinkle the dried yeast over the surface of the water and whisk it with a fork. Let it stand for 10-15minutes in a warm place until froth develops on the surface.
- Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and pour the yeast mix in. Lightly oil or flour your hands and gradually incorporate the flour and liquid until they bind together.
- Sprinkle your work surface generously with flour. Tip the dough on to the surface and scrape out any that is sticking to the bowl. Begin kneading and after about 5 to 10 minutes the dough ball should become smooth and silky, soft and supple.
- Leave the dough to rise and then ‘knock it back’.
- Pre-heat the oven to 230-260 °C. Do not put the pizza in the oven until it has reached its full heat.
- When the dough balls have rested and are soft to the touch but not too springy, they are ready to be stretched and rolled out into the desired shape.
