The Top Vendor Wedding Awards takes place annually. The awards aim to recognise the best in the SA Wedding industry, this includes blogs, magazines, photographers and all related service providers. Voting takes place amongst the general public as well as industry peers and there are two titles up for grabs in each of the categories ‘Peer choice’ and ‘People choice’ awards.
This year there were two awards ceremonies held, one in Cape Town and another here in Johannesburg. I was privileged to assist with the styling and organising of the event alongside Leandré from Black Olive. Leandré was phenomenal and sponsored the use of The Olive Lounge, a lovilee wedding and small functions venue in Quellerina, Johannesburg with the most spectacular views of the city. The venue caters for small weddings, conferences, birthday parties and more. Styling, flowers and decor can be provided by the venue and will not disappoint.
Together Leandré and I decided on a pastel colour palette in blush pink and duck egg blue. We added pops of rose gold to add that GLAM factor. In addition we decided to set up the two tables differently, one very formal and the other slightly more rustic to show how you can use the colour palette in a variety of ways.
Colleen from Lieflingkind Design was responsible for the stationary and nailed it! We wanted a leafy, but clean feel and decided to make use of olive branches on the stationary. We opted for round menus that were put inside the glass underplates on the one table and under glass table mats on the other. Lieflingkind was awarded both the Peer and People’s choice in the Pro wedding stationary category.
Craft Cut, a bespoke laser cutting company in the South of Johannesburg came to the party sponsoring brooches for the event. They also manufacture other wedding items that can be seen on their website here.
Nadine from Pippa and Polly cakery did her magic with a magical cake in the entrance hall of the venue. This lady is someone who consistently delivers more than expected and took my breath away with this creation!
A big than you to SA Event decor for use of their chairs and cocktail tables. Chairs as part of decor are sometimes overlooked for events, but it can contribute in a huge way to the decor. We opted for white Phoenix chairs for the event and they were gorgeous!!
Maryke Albertyn Photography captured the decor perfectly and we really enjoyed working with this Pretoria based Fine Art photographer that travels all over South Africa and internationally for her work. She is absolutely, head-over-heels in love with photography and always has a camera at hand. “When I have a camera in my hand, I have no fear ” – Alfred Eisenstaedt
Speaker at the event was Joggie Meyburgh from Dragonfly Marketing who shared more on on-line marketing and social media.
It was sooo lovilee to be part of the event and off-course walking away with the title of BEST WEDDING BLOG for the second year! {Peer choice}
