I have been running lovilee for just over five years now and it all started around the time that I got married. I thought I’d share some of my own images of my wedding today in the spirit of Valentines Day. It helps that I used a photographer whose images I still admire every day – Melanie Wessels.
My hubby and I tied the knot in winter (cause I had always envisioned a winter wedding!) during the soccer world cup. The day took place at Ducks Country House in Henley-on-Klip. I wanted a very simple, vintage affair in the country. We opted for a breakfast and visited with friends and family till early afternoon. Although the morning was quite chilly it was quickly warmed by the fire-places inside.
My sister and I managed to do my hair and my cousin, Ilana from Cosmetiek did my make-up. My dress, veil and jersey was made by my mom and shoes from Woolworths.
All the stationary were made by my hubby and I, not an easy task. Flowers and decor were supplied by the venue, all we did was have a ball! What I loved most about my wedding was that all the tables were different in size and each tables’ decor as well. Having the table numbers at each table different made it a lot easier placing people. As favours we gave each of the ladies’ a pashmina to keep them warm
Hmm, I did make the cake toppers and cupcake flags myself and the cake was a gift from a dear friend!
The couple shoot photographs are by far my favourite!
