Healthy living starts with healthy eating. These Healthy bran rusks are something that does not last very long in our household. Try your hand at baking with this health rusk recipe that we are sharing today. Wake your loved ones up with a delicious cup of morning java and one or two of these delicious rusks. Health All Bran rusks recipe
Rusks Ingredients
- 1 Kg of Self Raising Flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 3 cups all bran flakes
- 2 cups of sunflower seeds
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of buttermilk
- 500g melted butter
- 1 cup of raisins {optional}
Method
- Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a really big bowl.
- In a separate bowl mix the eggs, butter and buttermilk together.
- Add the wet and dry ingredients together and mix them to form a dough.
- Spoon the mixture into a large greased baking tray or two loaf tins.
- Bake at 180 degrees celcius for 1 hour.
- Remove the pans from the oven and let them cool.
- Remove from the tray and cut them into rusks.
- Place the rusks on a cooling tray and place them into a cool oven (approximately 70 degrees) for 4 – 6 hours until they have dried.
