In 2018 I was appointed as one of the ISCA influencers, together with Brad Muttitt and Abiah “Abiahsuperstar” Mahlase (fashion and design duos and winners of the SABC 3 Win-a-Home Series a few years ago). Together we were part of the ISCA trends stand at Decorex Cape Town and Johannesburg 2018 editions as part of the launch campaign for the new ISCA colour taps.
The brief for the stand was a bathroom make-over on a budget (ZAR8000) that had to include the ISCA colored taps in the bathroom. There were plenty of DIYs that both team Brad and Abiah and I did to keep the costs low on our bathroom revamps. One of my favorite DIYs being this on-trend faux flower wall art. Flower wall decor has become a huge trend over the past few years with flower wall being used as flower backdrop for parties and weddings as well as art that can decorate an interior space perfectly.
Faux Flowers are off-course much easier to work with than real ones as you are able to bend them without causing much damage. They do also not require any water or pruning and very little effort to look after. Making use of plastic leafy greens for a flower wall frame is ideal, the excitement is in the sourcing of the actual flowers and greenery.
This floral wall mural a little difficult to make on your own, but if you have an extra pair of hands then this project is loads of fun. Thank you to Melanie Wessels Photography who took these pretty images for me.
You can view the list of items that you need as well the the full instructions on how to make this artificial flower greenery wall art in this flower wall DIY.
The fun part comes in arranging the greenery. I sourced the artificial flowers from PEP stores, Transnatal Glass and a Chinese market close to where I stay. The must-have greenery for this artificial wall art is the fern leaves though as it softens the look of the box.
The other DIY project that I did as part of the bathroom DIY was these DIY copper hooks from copper plumbing pipe as well as a copper pipe towel rail that won an award at the Cape Town edition of Decorex.
