A Pretty and Pink craft cupboard Before & After DIY

I am obsessed with Before & After posts and have not done one in a while (because they do take some time and planning I suppose). My home office cupboard has been rather messy for quite some time. It is easy to just close the doors and to try and ignore the mess, but the problem was that with my starting The Tiny Dollhouse South Africa I am using the cupboard to store my miniatures in and I could not find anything inside. Packing orders became a nightmare. I was very irritable as I am generally very organised but this cupboard the total opposite.

I have been trying to konmari my home and knew that this cupboard was not sparking joy. It was just making me sad. Every time I opened it I felt it needed to change. It was time for a revamp but I had little energy and inspiration. I called in some help from a designer friend Mariaan from M.Studio who gave me some ideas and pointers.

I knew I wanted to paint the inside and wanted to add pink, she advised adding feet to the loose drawers and also some floating shelves and basket containers. She is always upbeat and there to help and she quickly managed to inspire me to start with this revamp.

This project took a weekend. All I needed were two x 1 litre Rust-Oleum Chalked Paints. Their blush pink is my favourite pink in the world and I also made use of the Linen White.

I used a brush and small roller to paint the inside and just had a shelf cut at our local hardware store. They did not charge me anything as it was my own piece of wood. I purchased some shelf brackets from Leroy Merlin and some plastic containers from their kitchen section. I purchased the wooden feet before and they were just lying inside the cupboard. All they needed were a coat of paint.

Then I used my Dymo label maker to add some labels to everything.

I love that I can use the cupboard to take photos of my dollhouse in and most of all that I can find everything that I am looking for. It is Pinterest perfect and best of all pink! #ihavethisthingwithpink.
