I believe that the details make a wedding truly special! From the start, inviting guests to attend or asking them to save the date for your special day, you create anticipation for the day. Here with some ideas for unique wedding invites to inspire and hopefully assist with your choice when designing your invitations.
Balloon save the dates
This lovilee ‘Save the Date’ was designed by Jennifer Lopardo from L’Office Optimiste, a New York based design studio with a primary focus in print design, illustration, identity systems, art direction and invitation systems. It was designed for a couple, Jen and Kevin who got engaged in Paris—a location they subtly acknowledged in a nod to Albert Lamorisse’s short film The Red Balloon when designing their save the date announcement.
Wanting to treat their wedding as a big party more so than a traditional event, each guest received a deflated, red balloon tied to a letterpress printed card reading: “Hello! Please inflate the balloon.” Once inflated, the piece reveals all relevant information and sets the desired tone with humor and playfulness. For good or bad, you can also read the info when deflated, a state that some of the balloons have kept in spite of the instructions.
Comic book story-line e-vite
An original idea that totally captures the bright personalities of the couple. The photos were taken and the comic strip put together by Western Cape based, Adrian Shields Photography & Design.
Photo story line
Similar to the comic storyline above is this cute photo story line save the date engagement photos by Grace studios.
