Following our lovilee styled shoot starring Daisy does Vintage, the gorgeous vintage caravan, we thought to share a few before & after photos of her transformation.
‘Upon meeting Jude {Daisy’s owner} I could immediately tell that she had a passion for everything vintage. She was wearing the cutest little cupcake dress and showed me all the photo inspiration behind Daisy. It is amazing to see from the before photos how with just some imagination, inspiration and lots of elbow grease, a plain little caravan could be transformed into something so gorgeous.’ – Debbie Lourens
Here are a few photos of Daisy before her make-over:
And here with what she looks like after the big transformation:
What Jude had to say on Daisy’s transformation:
I have always loved the vintage look and have collected vintage china for a few years now. We recently moved into a new house which is quite minimalist and neutral in colour so I needed somewhere to indulge in my love of everything floral, pink and vintage! In the UK, where I come from, vintage caravans are having a huge revival so I decided to look for one down here. I was very lucky to find one very quickly – I think it was meant to be!
When I first saw Daisy she was still in her totally original condition inside (including all of her original china!) as her previous owners had adored her and cared for her very much but I was not too keen on her yellow and dark green colour scheme. Luckily everything that needed done was cosmetic and so I have tried to keep her as original as possible by keeping all of her woodwork and cupboards but just cheered her up a bit hence all of the pink and florals. Daisy is actually older than me – she is 49 years old and I just ink it’s amazing the wonderful condition she is in considering her age. This is thanks to the gentleman who owned her before who actually bought her from new!
She is the perfect place to display and enjoy all of my vintage china and my children love to climb into her each afternoon for reading time. When we showed Daisy to our friends we quickly got requests for tea parties in her and these have proved very popular – particularly for mums looking for an original venue and new concept for their little girls’ birthday parties. It helps that my husband is a whizz in the kitchen so can conjure up the most delectable treats for the tea parties. Daisy has truly become part of our family and we love sharing her with anyone else who appreciates her old-aged charm.
