Breathe, breathe, breathe… Local designer Danielle Frylinck has just launched something truly amazing – her women’s Loungewear collection! Danielle has made a name for herself designing timeless pieces that seamlessly integrates with any current wardrobe. Adding a loungewear collection was the next logical step to providing an all round wardrobe solution.
Guess who was there to play model and get you the inside scoop?! There is something magical seeing an image of yourself on someone else’s site and I am so grateful that I could be part of this milestone! There has to be a reason that 2019 is known as 20’mine’teen!!
What is loungewear?
By definition loungewear is casual, comfortable clothing items suitable for wearing at home.
This topic is also very close to Marie Kondo’s heart, so much that she covers a whole section on loungewear in her book ‘The life-changing magic of tidying up’. For her, simply ‘downgrading’ old unused clothes and reclassifying them as lounge wear is taboo! There is no way that these clothes are items that will ever spark joy (which is the measure by which she suggests that we decide on what to keep or discard).
You need a set(s) of dedicated clothing items for this purpose that. According to her book ‘time spent at home after hours is still a precious part of living. Its value should not change just because nobody sees us… If you are a woman, wear something feminine or elegant as nightwear. The worst thing you can do is to wear a sloppy sweat suit… what you wear in the house does impact on your self-image‘.
Why sleepwear should never be overlooked?
When you spend almost half of every day in sleepwear, it just makes sense to consider a stylish and definitely comfy pair that can double up as loungewear. Netflix and chill no longer needs to be in your old t-shirt and raggedy track pants – up style with some silk in plain and print or even a liberty cotton. Lounge wear that allows you to go public if the need arises – collecting your Uber eats from the gate or popping out for a midnight snack without feeling like you need to grab something to cover up or re-dress in a hurry.
The Danielle Frylinck lounge wear collection
The collection boasts loungewear shirts and pants which can be mixed and matched into your own custom lounge wear set as well as robes and shirt dresses. There are plains and pretty prints available in the softest most comfy materials, design and fit. Danielle opted to make the shorts slightly longer for a more comfy wear that I really like, I often feel that shorts are just well… too short, these are just right!
Each of the items in the range were expertly designed, dreamed and put together with the finest details in place by Danielle and her right hand Andrews. All of the products are handmade by local hands, energy saver machines and high quality fabrics from the studio in Linden, Johannesburg. Shop the full collection here.
Go ahead spoil yourself, or leave some subtle hints to your better half that you need some of these pretties… You can off-course also spoil some one with a gift voucher to choose something for themselves from her on-line store.
