A new generation is taking notice of the ‘nostalgic’ homeware Delft trend, which comes from the delicate white and blue designs inspired by porcelain brought back to Holland from China during the 1600s. Dutch potters developed their own designs, known as Delft Blue which has always been renowned for its characteristically beautiful hand painted pieces of porcelain. Today we see this trend in fashion, homeware tiles and plates and it’s a lovely theme for a wedding or event.
The royal blue and white is clean and crisp and can be used in so many ways from a motif on the invites, to the decoration on the cake. The royal blue can be picked up by the bridesmaid’s dresses, the men’s’ suits and touches of ribbon around the flowers and table seating.
