Consol Glass has launched two exciting new products. WECK Jars and the ‘Jar-in-a-jar’ bottles. I am a huge fan of Consol’s glass products, especially when it comes to food presentation and gifting. See this post here for ideas using glass.
The first new jar options are the WECK jars. They are essentially imported, oven-proof jars, with glass lids and seal that are held together with removeable clips. These jars, with 12 options to choose from, are pretty and perfect for use for:
- storing & packaging
- baking & cooking
- serving in
- preserving
- DIY gifting
The second jar options are called ‘Jar-in-a-jar’ bottles. Their name says it all. There is a smaller jar (100ml) located within the bigger jar (500ml and 1l options available), all held together by the same lid. The plastic lids also come in very nice colour options that include, white, coral, green and blue. We used them as part of our Christmas shoot that we will feature later this year. Ideas for use include:
- Serving salad with the sauce in the smaller bottle
- Picnic foods with dips
- Craft storage with glue in the smaller bottle
- Sewing items, the needles in the smaller jar
All of the jars mentioned above are now available in-store at the Consol shops in Woodmead and Stellenbosch.

Aw, I just love Consol products! And this handy jar in a jar concept, so cool! I think I would use this for lego! Separating those small parts from the bigger parts! Eeek! Also I love the idea of salad and the dressing in the smaller jar, awesome awesome idea for a salad loving family!
I HAVE TURNED 3 OF MY CONSOL JARS IN TO NEW KITCHEN LIGHTS 🙁 loooooooooooooove them.
Such a clever product!! I would use the jar-in-a-jar as a perfect companion for our aeropress coffee maker – when my boyfriend and i go hiking / on road-trips we would use it to store coffee beans and milk. Nothing like a fresh cup of coffee!

With the festive season approaching at a rather frightening rate, I am starting to think about Christmas gift ideas and I would use my jar for storing iced Christmas cookies or chocolate balls, and/or for serving apple sauce or cranberry jelly on Christmas day with our roast pork.
How super convenient & clever are these jars ?? !!
I would use it on our next family picnic for storing our salads. Usually our salads get a bit soggy beforehand and tends to leak out if not stored in the right container.
This is GENIUS!!
I like the idea of using the jars for storing sewing items, like you suggested 🙂
As a granny I will use it for sweeties and dried fruit and raisins for my lovely grandchildren. They need some kilo joules to burn when they back home after a visit at grannies house
I would fill them with home made shortbread, mini Christmas mince pies, Lindt chocolates and nuts then place them on our dinner table on Christmas Eve, when we have a divine Christmas dinner ?
I would use my jars for preserving my mango and lemon atchar.
I thinķ a cool alternative way to use the 500ml bottle would be to store jewellry inside – liķe chunky costume jewellery or wooden beads – then the matching earrings in the snaller container.
Congratulations! You are the winner of the Consol Glass give-away. Please email your delivery address as well as contact number to [email protected]
Will use the jar in jar ones for all those upcoming Summer picnics to store salads in. Love Consol jars, use mine all the time
I would use these very stunning jars to store my make up in as it is all over my room!!
Iwould use my consol Jars for storing my baked treeats like cookies. Also to store buttons, cotton, needles etc
I would make summer cocktails and serve them in the jars
I would use these jars for my earrings, how cute
My pudding and custard for lunch.
Would use them for all my daughters craft bits
What an awesome idea – I already have a collection of their solar jars(viva load shedding lol) but this is such an awesome idea ideal for a mom like me who has to travel with food wherever we go with my little boy and hes dietary requirements. I heart CONSOL
I would love to use it for picnics for chips and dip!
Love glass! And love how versatile these products are! x
wow what a nifty and innovative jar from Consol! I loved reading the comments of everyone’s ideas on how they’d use their jars.. It would be hard to make a decision on just one or two uses. I loved the Lego idea, the snacks idea (as I’m a mom of two young boys), then of cause the salad idea.. I’ve never tried salad in a jar because I was like “ewe soggy salad” but keeping the dressing separate within the salad, game changer! For myself for lunch is put Greek yogurt and nuts in the bottom and frozen berries in the top so they retain as much of their frozeness and cold for as long as possible.
