A Frozen kids birthday party on a hot summers day

Every girl needs a Frozen party at some stage, ours happened this year at the princess’ 4th Birthday. Having a party during current covid conditions was tricky so we opted to have it very small. I purchased the princess’ dress from Cotton On Kids at the start of the year already and kept it hidden way in the cupboard for her birthday that was mid-November.

I must admit that the inspiration was very low, I am not sure whether it was this year or what but I really couldn’t visualise this event until 2 days before. Yay Cafe Shop designed the beautiful Frozen party stationery for me and it only dawned on me that the wreath that they used for the stationery would be the perfect addition as a backdrop to the candy table. It had been in front of me all along! Gerhardt from Gonk made my vision come to life with a dried wreath from his store (similar to the one I did a wreath tutorial for). We added some extra spraypainted dried foliage and dare I say that this was the most beautiful wreath I have ever seen!

One of the must-have items for the party was a glitter table cloth, I wanted to rent one but then a friend of mine had one that I could borrow. Glitter just sets that party mood! Sugar & Paper Parties made the most beautifully delicious sugar biscuits. The princess’ Nina made the cake with an Anna doll inside that I purchased from Game earlier this year. She loved the cake and could not believe her eyes, the inside was just as beautiful complete with a rainbow finish. Also on the table were some doughnuts that I stacked on Kitchen Towel holders (they make the perfect doughnut stands).

Sugar & Paper Parties also made some PYO (Paint-your-Own) Sugar biscuits that the kids loved. I set their table under the jungle gym so that they were in the shade and it worked really well.

I like giving party favours to the little guests that they can use for time to come instead of more sweets, so had some glitter masks made for them. They wear them so often.

My mom and Yolandi from A Zesty Life helped with the food platters (this is normally the last item on my panning sheet). We added some star cucumbers and cheese that we made with star cookie cutters that were a hit and made the platters look amazing.

Ooff-course I HAD TO use my beautiful umbrella from Pilgrimage Spaces with the drinks trolley and could not be more amazed by this beautiful umbrella every time it unfolds into prettiness.

Thank you to Dominique from Hello Love Photography who again took the most beautiful images for me.
