Elli-Nicole designs and produces high end Pret-a-porter women’s wear as well as bespoke couture bridal gowns and veils. Some of her gowns are going to be featured in the December Issue of Wedding Album Magazine and she will be showing her latest collection at SA Fashion Week on 17 October 2014. Photographer Melanie Wessels introduced us to this lovilee and her creations and we were so impressed that we decided to share.
Q: How did the company come about?
I officially started ELLI-NICOLE in 2013, I had never imagined starting my label so soon but I think the best experience you can ever get is by being responsible for your own business, it’s been an incredible and exciting journey since then!
Q: Tell us more about your dress ranges?
We have a ready to wear range that is currently being stocked at The One Bridal boutique on 4th Avenue in Parkhurst but most of the time I consult with my brides individually and design something special and unique for them. Fabrication is extremely important, all the gowns are made with the finest fabrics as I really believe it adds to the quality of the gown. We hand applique laces and hand dye our fabrics to create special and unique finishes.
Q: What is the best part about being a designer?
The best part is being able to wake up and create something beautiful every day. It is a privilege to be able to design and make a wedding dress for a bride to be, in that process as a designer you get to bring magic into the world and tell an amazing story, it’s wonderful to be able to create beauty and is a gift that as a designer I get to share.
Q: Where can people view your work or get in contact?
The can view my work on www.ellinicole.com, my Facebook page ELLI-NICOLE or e mail me at [email protected]. They can also pop by The One Bridal Boutique on 4th avenue in Parkhurst.
