A while ago I introduced you to Ankie from The Wooden Spoon Kitchen in Linden and her awesome and handy meal planners now available in her on-line store. Friend an photographer Tracey Kelsey’s kids attended an 8 week cooking course at the Wooden Spoon Kitchen. I thought I’d share her thoughts on the sessions as this might be something great to try out for my kiddies as well.
My children recently attended kids cooking classes at the Wooden Spoon Kitchen which was made up of cooking dishes from around the world. They have brought home such an incredible array of food like Alfredo pasta, curries, nachos and churros, milk tart, Bobotie and featured here sushi and Vietnamese spring rolls. They made these dishes from scratch and delighted in the hands on experience of cooking and making their own pasta and naan bread, picking herbs from the garden to flavour their food, seeing a dish through to completion and enjoying the reward of a delicious, healthy meal.
They have grown their knowledge of the world, added new flavours and smells to their repertoire, and are genuinely empowered to make themselves and all of us excellent, nutritious meals. Ankie is wonderful with the children and
my children have loved being in her company and learning from her.
To find out more about the classes or to get in touch visit the Wooden Spoon Kitchen on Facebook or email Ankie at [email protected].
