Perfectly Romantic Wedding

Soft greys, beiges, mint and lilacs, the colours of this perfectly romantic wedding day captured by Adele Kloppers Photography. Couple, Regardt and Lezaan, opted for a simple, yet elegant wedding day that took place at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate, Western Cape. The decided on a country / rustic theme and added old suitcases with flowers inside. There was also a vintage bicycle, and wheelbarrow for the rose petal confetti.

The couple met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. It was a Friday evening when Regardt fetched Lezaan from her house in Somerset West and it was love at first sight for them both. Regardt took her to Buena Vista and before dinner told her that he was going to marry her! Three months later he proposed and four month thereafter the tied the knot.

The proposal happened at the Pearl Valley: Golf & Country Estate on a weekend away for a friend’s birthday. Whilst the boys played golf the Saturday, the girls opted for early morning full body massages. Whilst almost falling asleep with the massage Sam Smith’s “Stay with me” (our song) started playing. She opened her eyes and saw her boyfriend’s trembling hand through the massage table hole, a small box in hand filled with a rose petal and engagement ring. Lezaan started crying whilst Regardt told her how much he loved her. He had to ask twice but got a sure ‘Yes’ in the end!

DIY details
The bride put the seating ‘ladder’ together. The ladder was her dad’s from his garage. Lezaan printed the names on kraft cardstock, added brown rope around the one side of the ladder and attached the cards with small pegs. The name cards were also printed on kraft cardstock, had a small copper eyelet and the same brown rope, it was used to bind the cutlery.

The table numbers were also a DIY project, using printed labels glued onto empty wine bottles. Each couple wrote a message and then dropped it in the bottles. The bottles were sealed and will be opened each year on their anniversary (for the next 13 years).
