Having not been to a European Country in a while, I started craving the atmosphere and culture of the coffee shops there. Most Coffee Shops in Europe have personality, you can see the vibe of place even before you enter through the large glass windows.
The very first coffee shop that my family and I ran into on a rainy day in London was a Pret a Manger. Once we opened the door we were hit by the noise of a coffee grinder, the smell of different things and the sight of people relaxed around the room, reading, working, having fun while having a quick lunch break. After that day it got even better. Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Caffee Nero, Café Bazar just to name a few…
Whilst driving through JHB I asked my husband to stop as I saw this place that awaken that same feelings inside me. There was a lady in a white shirt, black skirt, high black heels sitting in the window working on her laptop, in front of us a guy exited the shop wearing all stars, sunglasses, a backpack, books and large head phones! I new I wanted to go in!
Except having to pay the guys in the green jackets for my parking spot more than I paid for a cup of coffee, the rest was just awesome. We sat close to the window and the sun warmed us as we enjoyed our coffee.
