Mariaan, from m.studio, has created many a printable for lovilee in the past, but we have not formally introduced you to her. This lady’s work has been published in various publications such as Fair Lady Bride, Wedding inspirations magazines & ‘Leef’ magazine. M.studio has also been featured on local and international blogs. We had a Q&A session with her to get to know the lady behind the brand.
Q: Who is Mariaan and what is your background?
Hello… I’m Mariaan, a 20-Something designer & photographer. I’ve always dreamt of having my own business & through hard work, staying positive, many ‘all-nighters’ and truly loving what I do… m.studio was born. All the hard work paid off & I have been blessed with some pretty amazing opportunities!
I studied Graphic Design at TUT, Pretoria & finished my degree in 2010. Some of my achievements throughout my studies include Top student awards, Loerie finalist 2009 {package design} & being selected to represent TUT at the ABE BAILEY bursary where I travelled to the UK as part of a 1 month leadership development program together with other Top students from Universities all around South-Africa.
I previously had a small store in Pretoria, but have since moved everything online. You can shop my pretties via www.ilovemstudio.com.
Q: What inspires you?
I appreciate good design, modern interiors, typography, fashion and eating beautiful food. Creativity is my passion & I LOVE creating & making pretty stuff for cool people.
Q: What products and/or services do you provide?
I see myself as a lifestyle designer and specialize in the following:
- Graphic Design: Creative & corporate branding & Concept design { the entire CI design; from logo development to all other elements in the branding process such as business cards, email signatures, letterheads, packaging etc. }
- Stationery design: Stationery design for weddings, special events & everyday lifestyle. I offer custom design services and we are also constantly updating our stationery designs in our wedding collection range & stationery goodies that is available in my shop.
- I love styling weddings & often get contracted for other creative projects. I’m always keen on taking on any creative project in my line of ‘style’.
Q: What other projects are you involved in?
I am a co-owner & photographer for picture me&u {local & international wedding & lifestyle photography}
Without the amazing support from my wonderful family & bf x2 {boyfriend & best friend… werner} I would not have been shaped into the artist I am blessed to be today… I love you all!

…it’s great to be liked. It’s wonderful to be loved. It’s out of this world to be loved for what you love to do! Picture me&u prides itself in its unique blend of style. Using natural light, our creative eye & unique processing we achieve the perfect blend of modern-creative photography.
Our style is us. It’s what we do. We are passionate and inspired by simple things in life like; colour, light, laughter, design, music & people… When we are not creating pictures, we are probably designing and making awesome things for cool people! We are blessed by the opportunities, new friends and beautiful memories we make on our creative journey!
We are a group of photographers; from Pretoria South-Africa; who specialize in wedding & lifestyle photography. We travel worldwide ( yip; we’ve got the coolest job EVER! ) to take photos of beautiful weddings, amazing people & couples.
