I am so excited that this lovilee team is taking part in our Spring photo shoot today! Looking for unique and lovilee table linen for your wedding? These are the ladies to contact!
Q: How did the Linen Box come to be?
The Linen Box is co-owned by sisters Tanya de Bruyn and Michelle Venter. Our love for beautiful fabric in unique prints and designs is what inspired and led to the birth of our fine linen hiring company. Although neither of us graduated with a textile-related degree, we have been exposed to fabric from an early age which ultimately stirred up in us this passion. As little girls, we spent many hours playing amongst rolls of fabric and ribbon in our mother’s store. Our grandma further instilled in us this appreciation as visits to her were filled with excitement and often left us in awe. We can vividly recall watching her transform ordinary fabric into beautiful creations. It therefore comes as no surprise that we find ourselves following in the footsteps of these women.
Q: What products and services do you offer?
The Linen Box mainly focusses on renting out table linen items which include tablecloths, overlays, runners and napkins. We firmly believe that, in order to truly offer a variety of quality items, one has to specialize in a specific product or service. We do however understand the importance of flexibility and paying attention to customer needs and are therefore more than willing to expand our product offering should the need arise.

At The Linen Box, we pride ourselves in offering exceptional service and are more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure our client expectations are not only met, but exceeded. We therefore encourage potential clients to contact us and schedule a consultation as this allows us to gain vital information regarding the individual’s needs.
Alternatively, clients can visit our Facebook and Pinterest Profiles for up-to-date information regarding new stock. Our linen can also be viewed on our website which will be up and running in a few weeks’ time.
Q: Which of your items are most popular?
The importance of selecting the correct table linen for an event or function cannot be over-emphasized. Not only do beautiful linen items have the ability to set the tone and create instant warmth, but can also save costs as it eliminates the need for elaborate flower arrangements and other décor items. There has been an increased demand for unique table linen amongst South African brides who are no longer satisfied with traditional shiny fabrics and scrunched-up organza centrepieces.
The modern bride understands that all elements involved in her wedding, from the invitations to guest gifts, play a vital role in communicating a cohesive theme. Over the past few months, there has been increased interest shown in our grey and white striped runners as well as our blush pink lace overlays. These items add a unique touch to any event or function without being overbearing. We have also received numerous requests for Chevron printed runners and hessian runners with crochet edging.
Q: What are the trend currently for wedding tables?
Three major trends to look out for this wedding season are Patterns, Pastels and Gold accents. Patterned table linen such as floral prints, stripes and Chevron are increasingly popular and add a modern twist to any occasion. Pastels (think mint green and blush pink) will continue to steal the limelight as we move towards spring and summer. Lastly, silver is taking the back-seat making way for gold accents to steal the shine. This sudden interest in gold can be prescribed to the popularity of The Great Gatsby which depicts 1920’s exuberance and style.
