Bruwer + Karla had a lovilee colour pop country wedding in Robertson, photographed by Nadine Aucamp Photography. The couple met at a mutual friends’ 21st birthday party. Bruwer also celebrated his birthday that day. A friend that attended formally introduced them, and the rest was history… Their wedding was filled with beautiful details and the stationary and little red Zambuk favours were too cute for words.
Tell us more about the proposal:
Bruwer has an family beach house in Onrus, we were there for the weekend and the Sunday morning he ask me if I would like to walk down to the beach with him. Nothing unusual, because we do it often when we are there. When we got to the beach there was a big crowd and cycling competition. He looked a little bit perplex when he saw it and suggested that we go home and that he would make us breakfast, this was unusual.
Back at the house he treated me to a delicious breakfast and my favourite flower (poppy) that he stole from the neighbours’ garden. After breakfast he got the jewelry box out and explained that he wanted to propose at the beach this morning, but was so shy in front of all the people. But it was very special and won`t change it for anything.
Do you have any advice for engaged couples?
Plan together, don`t let the groom feel like an guest at his own wedding. Enjoy the planning and let family and friend help you with the small thing, not only do you bond with the process, but they feel a lot more involved the night of the wedding.
