Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year. Baking beautiful biscuits is a must with all the family. These biscuits are truly the most unique Christmas decoration you will ever make! They double as decoration, if the turkey is taking too long you can snack on the decorations.
Simply follow the recipe below and then stack the cookies, starting with the largest stars at the bottom into a Christmas tree to create a star biscuit candle holder for your Christmas table.
Star biscuit recipe
Ingredients
Method
Preheat oven to 180C.
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the egg, orange zest and juice and mixed spice and mix well. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until dough forms.
Roll the dough out 1cm thick.
Cut the star out the dough and make a hole in the middle. Make these in 2-3 different sizes.
Bake for 8-10 minutes (watch them – they burn easily). Let them cool and store in an airtight container.
To assemble stack your biscuits on top of one another. Place a candle in the middle.

Notes
Side Note: Never leave candles to burn when adults are not present to keep a close eye! The higher you make your cookie stack the more stable the candle will be.
