The third Linden Market took place this past weekend, and it was an awesome event! It was the first time that it took place at it’s new premises, at The Linden High School and was a roaring success.
The Linden Market is essentially an ad-hoc local market aimed at creating a platform for local makers, designers, shop owners and food vendors. There is a R10 fee per person payable at the entrance. The layout was great, the stalls beautifully curated and the street in front of the main gate cordoned off as a street market filled with lovilee food stalls.
Some of my favourite stalls this time round included:
- gonk
Located in Linden, Johannesburg, their shop in 4th street is filled with gifting and decor items. Their services include corporate gifting, artisan sweets, novel floristry and party planning. Visit their website and new on-line store on www.gonk.co.za.This time round they collaborated with other local re-trend. Re-trend recently moved their shop space to shop 2, Cnr 3rd Avenue & 6th street, Linden. They used to be known as ‘Bibi’s antiques’ and sells mid-century modern and retro-vintage furniture. They also provide upholstery services.
- Tapenade Olive Shop
Tapenade Olive Shop is an online gifting company showcasing the best that the South African olive industry has to offer. Visit them on www.tapenade.co.za.
