The love for beautiful objects sourced from sustainable crafters worldwide is what inspired Lisa Storer to start this breathtakingly beautiful lifestyle store. Carike and I attended the official and exclusive launch of theStorer’s ‘bricks and mortar’ showroom in Fourways, Johannesburg. The is no words to describe this space… It is totally magical, filled with gems upon gems upon gems of handmade curated objects from all over the globe.
The concept behind this lifestyle store
The idea behind theStorer is to stock fair trade items that celebrate nature’s palette and myriad textures, crafted by small communities around the world. In the process, it seeks not to just sell the product, but also to educate its consumer about the legacies and heritage attached to all their wares. The buyers at theStorer source and curate beautiful objects from all around the world that come from smaller crafters which uplift the gatherer as well as the maker. theStorer aims to bring people together that appreciate craft and community, to reconnect people from all over the globe and to bridge to gap between the crafter and the user.
All of the products are lifestyle related and includes the likes of homeware, apparel and footwear, soft furnishings and travel accessories. They offer both men’s and women’s collections.
We love beautiful things, and we want to create a beautiful environment where we are all conscious, and where we can come together in our little community store, furnished by theStorer.
About theStorer
theStorer has been online-based since it commenced trading in July this year. As a multi-dimensional brand, they decided to launch a ‘bricks and mortar’ store so that our buyers can come in and interact with the lovilees behind the brand and the items they wish to purchase. The showroom, in essence, will be a place to visit, slow down and browse through, taking in our varied and unique selection of artefacts on offer. In other words, a tangible, tactile experience.
