I have had the idea to make this Easy DIY Wall clock for some time, so when I stumbled across these basket platters on vacation in Margate in December I knew it had to be done! A wall clock is easier to make than you think and I was totally surprised with my skills. Thank you to my cousin Claudi Lourens who took the photos for me.
What you will need for your DIY Wall clock
- A Clock Mechanism and dials (see them online here)
- A Flat basket platter or object of your choice
- A pair of Scissors
- Wool and needle
- Pencil
- Protractor and a ruler
How to make this DIY Clock
- Start by marking the places where the lines on your clock should be using the protractor, ruler and pencil. Mark the 12 and 6 first, then the 3 and 9 and then measure 30 degrees every time to get the next mark.
- Using the wool and thread work your lines onto the basket, knotting the wool at the back of the basket every time. Repeat this step until you have 12 marks.
Now all you have to do is to find a pretty space for your wall clock to hang or stand.
