The lovilees of Pretoria based, Figure of 8 Photography captured Anéll and Gustav, who met through mutual friend’s, special day at Imperfect Perfection. There were some lovilee special touches to this special day. My favourite being the bride’s wooden protea bouquet and the pudding served in the mini ceramic mugs.
The couple booked the venue three years in advance, a month after getting engaged. There were plenty of DIY details on the day that included the table placement charts themselves using wooden palettes. Their table names were laser-cut words that they stained themselves. The groom involved in every aspect!
Tell us more about the proposal?
It happened on a weekend away with friends on a farm in Rooiberg, near Thabazimbi. The Friday afternoon Gustav told a friend that they must go and switch on a water pump. Odd, as we were staying in a luxurious house. They returned half an hour later, stating that the pump had to be turned off 20 minutes later again.
Gustav insisted I accompany him to switch the pump off. At the ‘pump’ I was greeted with a blanket and champagne. My now hubby was talking about bits and bobs and after a while said that we were ready to get back to our friends. I turned to pick up the glasses when he called, and as I turned around, he was on one knee…
