I recently attended the Woolworths Homeware Summer 2014 launch in Cape Town – ‘A season of innovations’. It was such a nice experience with a variety of bold colours, natural freshness and exciting innovations. Expect to begin every day filled with inspiration with Woollies’ new range.
Woolies is constantly searching for new products that are truly innovative, and this summer’s Homeware range will not disappoint. They have incredible new products that will not only look great in your home, but, in their quest to find more sustainable materials, products and processes, are great for the environment too. Included in the summer 2014 range are their new bamboo fibre bowls and plates, perfect for outdoor, modern dining. This eco-friendly fibre comes from a renewable source and is both food safe and dishwasher safe. There are also more sophisticated shapes making their way into this range.
My favourite on the day were the floral designs that are making their ways into you local Woolworths décor stores as we speak. These include some beautifully crafted 3D scatter cushions made from recycled felt. The pineapple as pattern is also seen throughout some of the ranges. {Jip, the pineapple is the new Pomegranate} The bold, classy patterns of the country Road range took my breath away and the new on-trend digital printed duvet covers will definitely be on my Christmas wishlist this year.
Woolworths have partnered yet again with Ngwenya glass, extending their inclusion into their Artisan ranges to the Studio.W range. Not only do they create valuable jobs in Swaziland & produce quality handblown, glassware they also have the same sustainability values as Woollies. Their glassware is made out of 100% recycled glass and their furnaces are powered with local recycled oil, in fact wherever possible throughout their factory they are using recycled materials.
You’ll find these and other beautiful, innovative home-ware at selected Woolworths stores from mid-August 2014.
